Emma Bleasdale, founder of Modern Way.
Following a career in finance, I spent 12 years working in commercial advisory roles in the art market, including strategic engagements with Christie's, Sotheby's and private family offices. That grounding taught me how galleries, auction houses and collectors actually run, and what kinds of new tools survive contact with a serious art-world business.
Modern Way is the work I am building now: independent research into how London primary-market galleries operate day to day, with the intention of designing applied AI services around the specific pain the research surfaces. Research first, build second.
I am also a trustee of Turtle Key Arts, a London arts production company commissioning across opera, music, theatre and dance, and I stay close to current AI practice through the Oxford AI Society and the Responsible AI Institute.
If you run a London primary-market gallery, the most useful thing to do is book a twenty-minute conversation. You tell me what running the gallery actually looks like. You receive a two-page anonymised summary of what your peers said to the same questions.
