How we handle your information.

Modern Way is a small consultancy based in London, providing AI advisory and education for independent art galleries. For the purposes of UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, Modern Way is the data controller for personal data collected through this site and through our research conversations.

We collect only what we need to do the work:

• Contact details you give us — name, email address, gallery or organisation, and anything you write in a message or form.
• Notes from research conversations you take part in, including the answers you give to our six questions.
• Basic technical information from your browser when you visit the site, such as device type, referrer and approximate location, used to keep the site working.

• To reply to you and arrange a conversation.
• To produce the two-page anonymised research summary shared with contributors. Individual galleries and quotes are not named without explicit, written permission.
• To send you revised versions of that summary as the research grows.
• To improve the site and our advisory work.

We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train third-party AI models.

We rely on your consent when you contact us or take part in research, and on our legitimate interests in running a small consultancy and maintaining a working website. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.

Research notes and contact details are kept for as long as the research programme is active, and for up to two years after, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run email, hosting and scheduling. They process data on our behalf under contract and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to ask us to delete it, to restrict or object to certain uses, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email emma@modernway.ai.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
